first_imgIt’s been a rough week, and our friends at Pigeons Playing Ping Pong decided they wanted to give everyone all the smiles. That’s exactly what you’ll find when you watch this new animated music video for their happy-go-lucky song “Penguins”.The video features a pair of paper cut-out penguins having the time of their lives. Watch the penguins as they jump into water, play soccer, walk hand-in-hand, fly through space, ride the rings of Saturn, use each other as skateboards, tumble through the snow, and generally have the best time ever. Eventually, the penguins come across some Penguins Playing Ping Pong and they all rock out together on stage. It is silly and fun and just what the doctor ordered in these dark times.Says Greg Ormont, “We’ve had this music video in our back pocket for a while now, and now seems like the perfect time to give people something to smile about!!”Check out the video for “Penguins” by Pigeons Playing Ping Pong below.Pigeons Playing Ping Pong continue their tour with Dopapod tonight in State College, PA, before moving on to Charlottesville, VA, Baltimore, MD, and Stroudsburg, PA. Blondie’s Debbie Harry Announces First Memoir, ‘Face It’

first_imgBlondie singer Debbie Harry has announced the forthcoming release of her first-ever memoir. The book will be titled, Face It, and is scheduled for an October 1st arrival via Harper Collins.According to reports, Face It will share Harry’s take on Blondie’s rise to fame in the late-1970s out of New York City’s then-blossoming punk-rock scene. The book’s format will be made up of a mix of essays written by Harry, interviews with journalist Sylvie Simmons, along with never-before-seen photos and fan art. Harry has always been involuntarily regarded as the leader of Blondie, with fans often mistakenly referring to her as the band’s namesake thanks to her trademark blonde hair.Related: Blondie Shares Psychedelic Space Rave Music Video From Upcoming Album“I didn’t want to [write it], but I did,” Harry mentioned in a statement to go with the book announce. “There are many more stories for me to tell, some funny, some scary, some warm, some chill to the bone, and if ‘Face It’ appeals to people then I will get to telling more of the anecdotal bits of the story of Blondie – like the time I met Rita Hayworth and Penny Singleton backstage at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles … I have led a very full life and couldn’t possibly cover everything in just one volume.”Harry also added, “I’m prepared for the best and the worst comments, much like when I have released an album or done a big show. I don’t have a thick skin, but I do have a pretty good sense of humour.”Speaking of albums, Blondie recently celebrated the release of their 11th studio effort with 2017’s Pollinator. The rock band continues to tour in promotion of the album as they’re scheduled to hit the road for a run of performances alongside Elvis Costello & The Imposters this summer. For tickets to the band’s upcoming 2019 performances, head to Blondie’s official website.
